Annapurna Base Camp Trek
Annapurna Base Camp Trek also known as Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is an amazing walk through diverse landscapes and cultures, rich mountain vistas, terraced fields, quaint Gurung villages and a wide variety of flora and fauna. Mt. Annapurna (8091m) of Nepal is the 10th highest mountain in the world and the journey to its base camp, which is at 4130m height, is one of the most popular walks on earth. We reach our destination via Mt. Machapuchhre base camp (3700m) which is revered by the Nepalese for its unique beauty. Also this Annapurna Sanctuary trekking is the most popular choice among diverse outdoor enthusiasts, from a solo female traveler to hikers travelling in groups to Nepal.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)
We will be waiting you at Kathmandu international airport holding a our company signboard with your full name so that you could recognize us so easily. When you come out, we will ride our reserve tourist bus to get 3*** hotel in the heart of Kathmandu city. Shortly you will do check in and get refreshed. Our tour leader Dilip will explain you about the overall glimpse of our full 11 days tour then in evening we will have a fantastic welcome dinner together at one of the Nepalese famous kitchen which introduces you a very unique Nepalese cuisine.
Day 02: Kathmandu valley sightseeing & getting prepared
This is the valley where flourished Buddhism and Hinduism together over the centuries. The ancient architectures of Buddhist monasteries and Hindu temples are just spectacular. As this is the capital city of Nepal, people live together from different walk of life and ethnic communities. After a breakfast, we start our guided tour to UNESCO heritage sites; Monkey temple and Bouddhanath stupa; the major Buddhist sites.
Day 03: Drive to Kimche (1750m) max 7 hrs then 55 minutes trek to Ghandruk(1940m)
Early in the morning we ride tourist bus and we leave Kathmandu valley by crossing the Thankot border and we climb down to Trishuli river. We fallow Trishuli River up to Muglin bazaar then we cross it. We see different green hill tops and traditional villages on the way to Ghandruk. We will have our lunch somewhere on our way at one of the best restaurant.
Day 04: Ghandruk to Chhomrong (2170m), max 6 hrs treks
The path heads north of the village on an exposed trail past pastures to a ridge, before descending into a green valley and a suspension bridge over the Kimrong Khola. After lunch, the trail climbs out of the valley through stands of rhododendron and oak forest, winding around the hillsides to Chhomrong with closer views of the giant peaks above.
Day 05: Chhomrong to Himalaya Hotel (2920m), max 6 hrs trek
After breakfast, the trail drops to cross the Chhomrong Khola and then ascends to the charming village of Sinuwa. Thereafter the trail enters the upper Modi Khola Valley through dense forests of cane, rhododendron and oak. It raises then drops to the village of Bamboo (2310m) on the banks of the river: a prefect lunch spot. After lunch, continue up through uninhabited forest to Dobhan, and after crossing several avalanche chutes, we get the small village of Himalaya Hotel.
Day 06: Himalaya Hotel to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m) via MBC, max 6 hrs trek
Today the trail climbs passing the Hinko Cave, Deurali and then Machapuchare Base Camp(3700), which isn’t really a base camp since climbing Mt Machapuchare is not permitted. Since it is completely surrounded by mountains, this area is known as the Annapurna Sanctuary. Two hours trek from Machapuchare Base Camp takes us to the Annapurna Base Camp at elevation of 4130m. We will see unobstructed amazing views of mountain scenery all around.
Day 07: Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (2335m), max 7 hrs trek
In the morning time, we will have full enjoy of sunrise over the numbers of mountains all around. Also we do few minutes hike around the base camp for photography and indulging into enchanting beauties of mountains. After breakfast, we retrace our steps to Bamboo. Today’s trek is downhill, so it will not be very difficult. We follow the same trail down. The trail drops by 1700m to the bank of Modi Khola to Bamboo at 2345m where few tea-houses and lodges available to stay.
Day 08: Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1760m), max 6 hrs trek
It is an uphill trek to Kuldighar followed by a downhill walk to Chhomrong Khola. Then we climb the stone steps to Chhomrong. The trail then descends to Jhinu Danda, where we will be resting for the night. Most importantly, today we will have an opportunity to enjoy the hot springs which is some 20 min downhill walk from Jhinu Danda.
Day 09: Trek to Nayapul then drive to Pokhara, 4 hrs trek & 1 hr drive
Today after breakfast, we will hike up to Nayapul and then take a bus ride to get Pokhara, the most beautiful mountain city in Nepal. The trek to Nayapul is a lovely hike as you can enjoy the views of beautiful landscapes along the trail back. A long the trail, we have a chance to see small villages and local people’s lifestyle.
Day 10: Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu
We fly to Kathmandu in the afternoon or early in the morning. We will have a farewell dinner in the evening. We can spend the day taking the much needed rest or catch up on some last minute shopping. Our flying to Kathmandu will give us an incredible views of sky touching Himalayas.
Day 11: Final departure to sweet home
Our journey in Nepal comes to an end today! Majestic Himalaya representative will drop you off at the airport approximately 1 hour before your scheduled flight.
